Sodalco, a company founded in Milan in 1969, launches the Fresh & Clean brand: the first wet wipes to appear on the Italian market.
In 1981, the first package of 100 Milleusi wipes was launched, for cleaning the hands and body when soap and water are not available. This was followed in 1983 by the first Milleusi compact travel pack, designed specifically for use outside the home, thanks to its compact size.
Fresh & Clean added liquid soaps to its product range in 1984. The 1980s also saw the first advertising campaigns for Fresh & Clean wipes starring Enrico Beruschi, a comedian known for his participation in the cult programme "Drive in" at the time. Beruschi was shown dealing with a number of "dirty" situations in everyday life, always brilliantly resolved with Fresh & Clean wipes, because, as the advertising slogan says, "When there's no water, there's Fresh & Clean".
